| Melanie RobertsPrincipal PhysiotherapistBook Online with MelMelanie is the Principal physiotherapist with 20 years physiotherapy experience in private practice. Melanie started Gold Coast Sports & Spinal Physio in February 2003 and Gold Coast Headache Clinic in 2016. She graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy and completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in 2002.
She began her career working in private practice as well as in hospitals before working over in the UK. Following this she worked for three years in a private practice/private hospital before heading off to work in the USA. Since returning she has worked in private practice, mainly in the area of sports physiotherapy.
Since 2007 Melanie has become an “APA Sports Physiotherapist”, a specialist title awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. She has previous experience with various sporting teams including freestyle snow skiing with the ‘Australian Ski Team’ as well as Australian Rules, Rugby Union and League and Motor Racing both nationally and internationally.
Melanie opened the Gold Coast Headache Clinic when she decided there was a lack of knowledge and accurate assessment tools in treating headache and migraine related issues, having been a past sufferer of headaches since a child and more severely in her early 20s. She found having tried many other treatments that the Watson Headache® approach was the only one that worked. She no longer suffers from headaches.
She has completed the Watson Headache® Institute (run by founder Dean Watson -www.watsonheadache.com) – Level 1, Level 2 and finally the Level 3 to become a Watson Headache® Certified Practitioner for headache treatments and uses this approach on her patients.
Melanie is an extremely passionate physiotherapist who prides herself in achieving excellent results. Melanie is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Sports Physiotherapy Group. Melanie is a preferred provider for Medibank Private, NIB and BUPA and participates in the “More for Muscles” program with HCF.
When not working, Melanie loves spending time with her family, including her two young boys. |

| Mathew O'BrienSenior PhysiotherapistBook Online with MattMathew joined our sister practice Gold Coast Sports and Spinal Physio, having moved up from Sydney where he completed his Bachelor in Physiotherapy at the ACU. From working with Melanie and seeing the success with headaches, he decided he too wanted to learn this approach.
